Water Line Repair & Replacement

The water service is the pipe that brings city water from the street into the house. In many older Toronto neighbourhoods that pipe is still lead or corroded galvanized steel. Over time it narrows inside, so the flow drops when two taps run at once.

Lead Pipe Upgrades and Water Service Repairs

We repair a leaking service when the pipe can be repaired, and we replace the private portion when it is lead, crushed, or too small for the house. If the pressure drops every time someone flushes, the main service is often the bottleneck. That is a different problem from a clogged faucet.

The City of Toronto owns the section from the watermain to the property line. You own the section from the property line into the basement. If you are worried about lead, the City's free water test is a good first step. We can also inspect the visible pipe at the meter and quote the private replacement.
